I would tend to use E-L's cross referencing mechanism.
You could use LaTeX \label and \ref in conjunction with E-L references.
You might want to consider for Friday's discussion: Is this a good idea
or a bad idea? Does the answer change depending on whether I have the
paper copy only or if I also have access to the artifact?

Actually, I'd like paper copies generated from the latex-root, but
including your user name and the name of the latex-root artifact as part
of the title would be useful. Please derive unix program from the
unix-program artifact for me (and to check your transcribed code) so that
I can just run it rather than generating it myself. Thanks.
