Then I will describe ssh 1.0, the popular secure shell. The
interesting thing here is its security holes and their relation
to ease of use and popularity. In this conjunction I will
briefly describe X.509, the certificate system.
This class will probably not last more than an hour. At the
end we can discuss anything students want to and then ajourn
and discuss whatever students want to privately (e.g. projects)
(I know, most of you are too busy, but maybe some are not).
Of course attendence at this class is unrelated to grade.
Note that I will NOT be in either Thursday or Friday this
week. I expect to be in MWF next week.
Projects are due Thursday next week. More precise rules on
how to submit the projects will be emailed to you and posted
on the web site: I want to be a bit more careful with this than
usual because some of you may be submitting a bit early and then
leaving town and I do not want anything getting lost.
